Welcome to Studio ROOF, where creativity, playfulness, and sustainability come together to spark the imagination of all ages. Our story began in 2005, when Romy and Ilya, parents of three, built a cardboard playhouse inspired by the magical and creative interactions within their family. Those moments gave rise to the very first Studio ROOF creations. Now, 20 years later, both the children and the company have grown, and Studio ROOF proudly offers a wide collection of unique and colourful wall art and decorative objects for all ages.

Our starting point is paper – a simple, versatile material full of possibilities. Through the lens of imagination, we transform recycled cardboard into enchanting worlds. From insects and birds to sea creatures, flower bouquets and masks, each creation tells a story celebrating the beauty of nature, fantasy and art.
Because nature plays such a vital role in our story, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. All our products are made from recycled cardboard and printed with vegetable inks – proof that beauty can emerge from sustainable choices.

This year we celebrate 20 years of Studio ROOF. To mark this milestone, we created a special anniversary photoshoot – dressing up in elements of our own designs – for the book we made, which will be published in September 2025. A playful reminder that creativity is not just something we design, but something we live.

Studio ROOF has never been about just Romy and Ilya. Over the years, we’ve grown into a company powered by a talented and passionate team of ten people, each bringing their own creativity and dedication. Together, we imagine, design, develop, market and ship every piece – proving that imagination is teamwork. Today, Studio ROOF is featured in living and gift stores, museum shops and bookstores around the world. And yet, at its core, it is still what it was in the beginning: a joyful invitation to play, to imagine, and to embrace the magic of sustainable beauty.

Studio ROOF turns 20!

What started in 2004 with a cardboard playhouse has grown into a design brand with a passionate team of 10 people and a collection sold worldwide. To celebrate, we dressed up in our own creations for a special photoshoot, made especially for our anniversary book, published in September 2025.
